TV/Media

TV/MediaMatt is perhaps best known as the face of The City Gardener and Selling Houses, aired on Channel 4 from 2002 to 2006. Since then The City Gardener has been broadcast in countries from Poland to New Zealand, and repeats are still shown on Channel 4 and UKTV.

For the Urban Outsiders series, broadcast on HGTV in the USA, Matt built more than twenty-five gardens, from Venice Beach, Los Angeles, to a high rise roof terrace in Manhattan. Two of these gardens won prestigious awards.

With The Insider, Channel 4 chose Matt to write and present a programme about the terrible loss of green space in our towns and cities. More recently he appeared in Matt James Eco-Eden for UKTV, a series exploring important issues facing modern gardens, and which covered topics as diverse as environmental sustainability, water conservation, the preservation of biodiversity and reducing our carbon footprint.

Other TV appearances include Celebrity MasterChef, This Morning, and Richard & Judy.

Matt also contributes to Radio 4’s long running series, Gardeners’ Question Time.
